Das Leib­niz-Insti­tut für Fest­kör­per- und Werk­stoff­for­schung Dres­den e.V. (Leib­niz-IFW Dres­den) ist ein außer­uni­ver­si­tä­res For­schungs­in­sti­tut und Mit­glied der Leib­niz-Gemein­schaft. Das Insti­tut beschäf­tigt durch­schnitt­lich 600 Mit­ar­bei­ter und wid­met sich neben sei­nen wis­sen­schaft­li­chen Auf­ga­ben der För­de­rung des wis­sen­schaft­li­chen und tech­ni­schen Nach­wuch­ses. Auf höchs­tem inter­na­tio­na­lem Niveau betreibt das IFW moderne Werk­stoff­wis­sen­schaft auf natur­wis­sen­schaft­li­cher Grund­lage und macht die gewon­ne­nen Ergeb­nisse für die Wirt­schaft nutz­bar. Die kom­plexe und inter­dis­zi­pli­näre For­schungs­ar­beit wird inner­halb des IFW von fünf wis­sen­schaft­li­chen Insti­tu­ten geleis­tet, die darin von einer hoch­ent­wi­ckel­ten tech­ni­schen Infra­struk­tur unter­stützt wer­den. Working field:

The Insti­tute for Emer­ging Elec­tronic Tech­no­lo­gies (IET) at IFW Dresden offers within the work­ing group “Acous­tic Microsys­tems” a pos­i­tion for a Stu­dent Assist­ant / Sci­entific Assist­ant / Bach­elor / Mas­ter (m/w/d) for Soft­ware Devel­op­ment in the field of microacous­tic lab tech­no­logy

Requirements:

Your pro­file:
As a suc­cess­ful can­did­ate (m/f/d) you should be exper­i­enced using pro­gram­ming envir­on­ments in-clud­ing Python, C&C++ (for Ardu­ino), MicroPy­thon and Lab­view. You are inter­ested to apply your skills to the inter­con­nec­tion and auto­ma­tion of devices includ­ing ana­log and bus-based sensors and actu­at­ors and for the cre­ation of simple GUIs.
A very good know­ledge of writ­ten and spoken Eng­lish, and a dis­tinct­ive abil­ity to work in an interna-tional, inter­dis­cip­lin­ary team and a tech­no­logy trans­fer / star­tup pro­ject com­plete your pro­file.

Research group and aim of R&D:
The research group aims at devel­op­ing a pro­to­type for a unique cell sort­ing tech­no­logy in the frame-work of our found­ing-ini­ti­at­ive MicroAcous­tiX. The offered pos­i­tion is embed­ded in a lar­ger research team, work­ing on dif­fer­ent aspects of a lab device pro­to­type, and espe­cially con­cerns the integ­ra­tion and auto­ma­tion of its com­pon­ents. You can assist us in the real­iz­a­tion of the con­trol soft­ware of the pro­toype, as well as in GUI devel­op­ment, integ­ra­tion of sensors, and the pro­to­type eval­u­ation.

What we offer:

We offer a pos­i­tion for a stu­dent or sci­entific assist­ant (up to 19hrs/week), as well as for inter­ested Bach­elor or Mas­ter stu­dents with accom­pa­ny­ing SHK pos­i­tion (up to 9hrs/week pos­sible), if desired. The salary is based on the TdL guidelines. The insti­tute pro­motes the pro­fes­sional equal­ity between all genders. The IFW would like to increase the pro­por­tion of women in sci­ence. Qual­i­fied women are there­fore expli­citly invited to apply. Severely dis­abled applic­ants (m/f/d) are expressly wel­come.
