The University of Pavia is one of the oldest in Europe: the Studium Generale was established in 1361. Pavia is situated in Lombardy, 35 km from Milan, in one of the most prosperous and industrialized regions of Northern Italy. Today, more than 70,000 people live in the city of Pavia, founded two thousand years ago on the bank of the river Ticino. Pavia offers an international university campus, colleges, Residence Halls and sports facilities for more than 25,000 students from Italy and all over the world.
